Mission And Purpose
Based in Westchester County, NY, Akiele is a volunteer, non-profit organization whose mission is to "TEACH and EMPOWER people of the African Diaspora to adopt healthy life skills." The goal is to empower individuals to take personal and collective responsibility.
Akiele addresses issues that are a consequence of prolonged exposure to substance abuse, dysfunctional lifestyles and self-limiting ideas. Support and empowerment groups, seminars, empowerment conferences, and weekend retreats are used to help Akiele achieve their goals.
